FAQ

Common questions about the registry, evidence, and review. Full attempt flow: How it works. Limits and clauses: Rules.

What is DroneWorldRecords?

DroneWorldRecords (also written droneworldrecords, official site droneworldrecords.org) is a public registry of verified drone performance based on blackbox telemetry and proof video. It is operated by Born4Flight®™ s.r.o. We are not a competition organiser; pilots remain responsible for flying lawfully and safely.

What is the official website for DroneWorldRecords?

The official website is https://droneworldrecords.org/ — search for DroneWorldRecords or droneworldrecords to find the registry.

What is the difference between Official verification and the Public board?

Official verification uses timed QR checkpoints, blackbox analysis, proof video, and human review by the Records Jury. Approved results can appear as registry records and count toward category leaders.

The Public board is for community listings with a lighter path (log, video link, and details). It is useful for sharing, but it is not the same as a fully verified official registry record.

Who is the Records Jury?

The Records Jury is the independent panel that reviews evidence and votes on official record decisions. Staff handle support, consulting, and day-to-day operations; jury members focus on verification integrity.

How do I submit a record attempt?

Create an account in the Portal, complete licence validation when required, pre-register a record (type, class, motor configuration), accept the applicable rules, then run the evidence flow: Video QR session, blackbox upload and decode, proof video, and extras. Step-by-step guidance is on How it works.

Why are QR codes required on video?

QR checkpoints (for example Camera rolling, Attempt start, Attempt end, and Log uploaded) tie the flight to a real timeline on continuous camera footage. That reduces the risk of spliced clips or reused evidence and helps staff confirm that the log and video belong to the same attempt.

What blackbox evidence do you accept?

Original, unaltered flight-controller blackbox logs (typically .bbl / .bfl). Results are measured with the Born4Flight®™ FL1GHT analytical pipeline — you do not type your own speed. GNSS quality requirements (including satellite count, update rate, and PDOP) are defined in the category rules; missing mandatory telemetry such as PDOP can invalidate a run.

How do 2-way speed runs work with separate log files?

For two-way speed runs you may upload one log that contains both directions, or two separate files. Separate files are labeled as pairs (Run1A + Run1B, then Run2A + Run2B for another attempt). Other record types use a single log file per upload.

What are weight classes and motor configurations?

Attempts are organised by category rules for weight class (for example Sub-250g and Open) and motor configuration (for example X4 / X8). Limits, measurement methods, and evidence requirements differ by category — always open the matching rules before you fly.

What is B4F: M.A.S.K. (special request)?

A special request for GPS privacy (zero or relocate the published home position) and/or hiding voltage and current in the public log — for example when flying over private or special-purpose areas such as a military base, company site, or other restricted polygon where the real home coordinates must not appear publicly. It requires a short justification and a staff vote before QR evidence unlocks. If approved, the public blackbox is rebuilt later so private fields are scrubbed while the scored result is preserved.

How long does official review take?

Timing depends on evidence quality and volume. Complete packages with clear QR video, a valid blackbox, and matching details are reviewed fastest. Please allow several working days after submission; incomplete or ambiguous evidence may need follow-up questions.

Can a published record be corrected or removed?

Yes — use the contact form with topic Record correction and include the public record link (or pilot name and date), plus what should change and why. Material corrections may require re-checking evidence; integrity issues can lead to withdrawal of a listing.

Do you organise competitions or award prizes?

No. DroneWorldRecords publishes pilot-submitted telemetry for comparison and verification. Event organisation, airspace permissions, insurance, and prizes remain outside the registry’s role.

How should media or partners get in touch?

Use the contact form with topic Media / partnership. Include your organisation, deadline, and what you need (interview, assets, clarification of a public record). For technical product questions about FL1GHT analysis, mention that in the subject line.
